• a Scripture note,
• reflections which can be the foundation for a homily,
• prayer of the faithful
• a brief concluding prayer/reflection.
These are all the work of Flor McCarthy, a Salesian priest whose first ministry was as a catechist and who now serves as a preacher, teacher and writer, in Ireland and in the USA.
Liturgies for Weekdays: Lent also provides reflections and prayers for each saint whose commemoration can occur during Lent.
These were written by Vincent Ryan, O.S.B. (died 2005), a monk of Glenstal Abbey, who studied liturgy at Trier and who taught for many years at the Irish Institute of Pastoral Liturgy.
